- ‘Tag Wars 2010’ kicked off last weekend in South Philly, but not without a bit of controversy! The Dark City Fight Club of Kory Chavis and Jon Davis withstood the test of the Embassy’s Shawn Daivari and Mr. Ernesto Osiris, but the big news came when Lance and Harlem Bravado scored an upset over the Super Smash Brothers to advance in the tournament. “This is by far the biggest win of our ROH careers,” said Harlem. “No one gave us a shot, and we take that as pure motivation. We feel like we’re getting better and better every day, and we can’t wait for the Semi-Finals!”

- Speaking of the Bravado Brothers, they’ve just been added to this Friday’s card in suburban St. Louis as they will oppose Josh Raymond and Christian Able – the House of Truth! Can the Bravados add another team to their upset list?

- Did you see the brutal Anything Goes Street Fight last night on HDNet? Colt Cabana and El Generico fell to Steve Corino and Kevin Steen in an all-out brawl that words cannot do justice to. In the span of 7 months, these four men have laid out a path of destruction that may be unrivalled in ROH. Now we brace ourselves for THIS FRIDAY NIGHT in Collinsville, IL and Hate: Chapter II as Kevin Steen meets El Generico one-on-one for only the second time since last December. Nothing more remains to be said. There is nothing but hatred between Steen and Generico and it remains to be seen what, if anything, will come from this war. Fans of St. Louis get ready: This one is going to be one for the ages. Get there if you can and be a part. Great tickets still remain for this Friday here. Please remember, this could get out of control quickly. This is your warning.

- The entire Ring of Honor family sends out heartfelt congratulations to the venerable Jerry Lynn on his induction into the Arena’s Hardcore Hall of Fame last weekend in Philadelphia. As a senior member of the ROH locker room, Jerry’s contributions both in and out of the ring are truly immeasurable, and we were happy to host the occasion.

- It appears that Shane Hagadorn may have finally stepped over the line. Last weekend as part of the ROH on HDNet television tapings, Davey Richards battled Roderick Strong with Strong’s mandated World Title match at stake. Both Richards and Strong had agreed to leave their respective managers – Truth Martini and Shane Hagadorn – in the locker room and “settle the score like men”. As everyone will soon see on HDNet, Hagadorn would have none of it, and interjected against the wishes of Richards. After the bout, both Richards and Hagadorn were visibly angered, with words exchanged, and a thunderous right hand from Richards knocking Hagadorn senseless. ROH World Television Champion Eddie Edwards found himself in the middle, and after the fray, only offered a hurried “no comment” when asked about the future of the group. One would have to wonder what Hagadorn’s next move would be, and whether the ROH World Tag Team Champion Kings of Wrestling have anything to say about it. We’ll have more on this as it develops.

- Speaking of Eddie Edwards, confidential sources indicated to ROHWrestling.com that many wrestlers within Ring of Honor are now outwardly questioning the validity of Edwards’ “10 Minute Hunt”, and are wondering why their names are being ignored in favor of lesser known opponents. More to come.

- ROH World Champion Tyler Black held off Kevin Steen in a bloody classic last Saturday night in Chicago. Both men left the Windy City bruised and battered, perhaps Steen more than Black, and people are wondering what Kevin Steen said to Black just after the two unexpectedly followed the Code of Honor following the bout. ROH video cameras were rolling and we will have that footage in an upcoming Videowire. Tyler Black, meanwhile, is looking to continue his incredible roll as of late. “I feel like I’ve come into my own,” Black told ROHWrestling.com. “I’m focused like never before, and things are clicking on all cylinders right now. But I know the target firmly remain on my chest, and the challenges will never stop. I’ve put down Richards, I’ve beaten Steen, and there are a couple more names that I know will have to be shut down before it’s all said and done. I’m a machine, this war rages on, and I’m ready for them all.”

- The Saga of Steen and Generico may actually be further from resolution today than it was just one week ago. ‘Hate: Chapter II’ took place last Friday night in suburban St. Louis and those in attendance saw a war unfold before their eyes. Just as Generico had Steen where he wanted, “Mr. Wrestling” launched a chair into the face of a flying Generico to illicit a disqualification. But that only fueled the fire. What followed next was a building wide brawl that saw both men fight all over the Gateway Center with referees and other wrestlers falling victim to the barrage of both warriors including Kevin Steen attacking Colt Cabana once again with a steel chain during the melee and leaving him lacerated. Just as happened at ‘Bitter Friends, Stiffer Enemies II’ (now available on DVD at http://www.rohwrestling.com/store.php?sec=prod&prod=559), the fight even went back up the camera scaffolding, putting both men in terrible danger. This round of hatred ended with El Generico standing tall, but left more questions than answers. What is next for these men; and what will Steve Corino have to say since he wasn’t there to ‘guide’ Steen? El Generico figuratively won Round Two. Will there be a Round Three?

- The American Wolves find themselves in an interesting situation. Eddie Edwards is the World Television champion, allegedly struggling to find appropriate challengers for the title. Davey Richards is just off a World Title loss in a classic to Tyler Black. Now they seem to have dismissed long-time manager Shane Hagadorn. After the Wolves suffered a loss to Colt Cabana and El Generico last Saturday night in Chicago, Hagadorn approached Richards and Edwards as they came back down the aisle following the bout. What happened next is surely something the Hagadorn hopes he soon forgets. Richards unleashed on Hagadorn a swift and decisive assault, leaving Hagadorn down in the aisle with Edwards repeatedly telling him that “it isn’t the right time”. Notably absent from the altercation were Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli, who went on to beat GenerationMe in the next bout. “It isn’t my place to comment on what’s going on there,” Hero told ROHWrestling.com. “It’s my job to concentrate on the World Tag Team Titles and being the best Tag Team on Earth. Everything else is a non-priority.” More on this as it develops.

- Injury Update from last Saturday in Chicago: Grizzly Redwood needed 10 staples to close a wound near his temple suffered as a result of a vicious uppercut from the Necro Butcher. He is not expected to miss any time. Senior official Todd Sinclair suffered a moderately pulled groin during the event. He is also not expected to miss time. Mike Sydal underwent a CAT scan following being knocked unconscious against Jay Bradley, and we’re happy to report that Sydal is expected to fully recover from the resulting concussion and that his CAT found no abnormalities. - Steve Corino was not happy upon learning the outcome of Kevin Steen’s bouts last weekend in the Midwest. Corino, who many laud for the alleged brainwashing of Kevin Steen, was very calculating in his comments to ROHWrestling.com. “Failure,” said Corino, “is simply a matter of perspective.” He continued, “Generico, the disease, stands tall in Saint Louis, but stands tall over what? A battle he thinks he won? Yet did he? Doesn’t he know that this is a war that was lost before it ever began? Doesn’t he know that this isn’t about wins and losses? This is about breaking the link in that parasitic chain that connects the disease to Kevin and has dragged him into the abyss that only I can pull him out of. This is about breaking those chains and this is about finality. Colt Cabana hasn’t listened. He only attaches another disease-ridden chain. Yet together we will break them all. And together we will set Kevin free.” More on this as it becomes available.

- Just when you think that Austin Aries can’t push the envelope any further, he simply smirks and nudges it along. This time he may have pushed too far. Those in attendance last weekend in suburban St. Louis saw the former two-time ROH World Champion drop the fall to Delirious in their intense six-man grudge tag match. But it is what the fans didn’t see, and why Daizee Haze was unseen in Chicago the next night, has Delirious out for blood. As will be seen in the upcoming ROH Videowire, Aries took this vendetta to a completely inappropriate level when he, in effect, kidnapped Haze following the bout. ROH on HDNet Executive Producer Jim Cornette was backstage preparing for an interview when an enraged Delirious stormed through the bowels of the Gateway Center, looking for Aries, but more importantly, Daizee Haze. When he found her, Aries wasn’t far behind and the lizard man was brutally attacked by A-Double and both Haze and Delirious were left lying as Cornette and other ROH Officials stormed the scene. The next night in Chicago, Aries threw salt in the wound by proudly parading around ringside wearing Haze’s clothing. ROH Officials are weighing what action to take next, and Delirious (through interpreters) has made a demand. We’ll have more on this as it develops, but sources indicate that Philadelphia may be in store for a war.

- Charlotte, NC will be the site of Ultimate Endurance, the Final round of ‘Tag Wars 2010’ where the World Tag Team Titles will be at stake. But that isn’t all we’re bringing to the Queen City. Sources indicated to ROHWrestling.com that officials are quietly working to finalize a huge rematch for this event. Stay tuned to ROHWrestling.com for breaking news on this matter.

- ROH Officials are aware that the unpredictable nature of the semifinal round of ‘Tag Wars 2010’ makes it impossible to release a full and complete card for August 28th in Charlotte, NC. Do not worry. We promise you will get top notch Ring of Honor action in the Queen City, and in that vein, ROH Officials have even reached out to those competitors still involved in Tag Wars to see about the possibility of wrestling twice in Charlotte. Both men are under the guidance of what many call ‘less than ideal’ leaders. Both want another shot at the title. Roderick Strong holds a mandated title shot as a result of his win in the Toronto Gauntlet at ‘Death Before Dishonor VIII’, but that means nothing to Steen. “I gave Tyler a message in Chicago (which will be seen in the forthcoming ROH Videowire). It’s a special message. But I’ve got another message. I’ll be back; I’m already coming back. I’m right around the corner. I’m knocking on the door already. But answering the door is Roderick Strong. He’s got a chance at the belt. I’ve got to steal a chance. I’ve got to beat Strong. And then I will get another shot at Tyler. And then I will beat Tyler. And then I will end Generico. - ROH World Television Champion Eddie Edwards hears the whispers, the innuendo. “They say I’m not a fighting champion,” said Edwards. “How quickly they forget. How quickly they push fact away deep in their minds and forget that the Wolves are the greatest World Tag Team Champions of all-time. How quickly they forget the broken arm and Ladder War II. It’s disgusting. I am the very definition of ‘fighting champion’ and how that can be forgotten is a disgrace.” When asked about his current relationship with Shane Hagadorn, Edwards said, “We’re not talking about that right now. We’re talking about me; we’re talking about my hunt – The ‘10-Minute Hunt’. It is specifically designed to find fighting champions, and the fact is that there simply haven’t been any! They say I’m ducking ‘quality opponents’. I duck no one. In fact, I’ve issued a challenge of my own for our debut in Richmond, VA. We’ll see who a fighting champion is.” More to come.
